As well as adding two new cafes in Ilkley to our site there’s a whole heap of other good stuff happening in Ilkley this month that we think you all should know about!
Ilkley Cycles – Fuel Station
Ilkley Cycles was founded in 1990 (previously JD Cycles) as a traditional bike shop, but today it is so much more than that. As well as being a great place to buy and maintain bikes it has now become a spot for local cyclists to hang out and enjoy a coffee or bite to eat at their in-house café, the Fuel Station.

Commute Coffee House & Workshop
The website of The Commute Coffee House in Ilkley suggests the venue is a place to enjoy great coffee as well as immerse yourself in Yorkshire’s cycling culture, and we couldn’t put it better ourselves. The café only opened in June 2016 and already seems to be a hit with the locals.

Ilkley Cycle Races – Wednesday 22nd June
The Ilkley Cycles Races are based around a challenging 1.5 km circuit around Riddings Road hill with a high-speed finish along The Grove. There’s an Under 14s, Under 16s, Women’s and Men’s race and last year there were victories for stars of the future Tom Pidcock and Melissa Lowther. It’s a great evening out watching some superb racing that we would thoroughly recommend!

Ilkley CC White Rose Classic – Sunday 26th June
The WRC is considered to be one of the best road cycling sportives in the region. With three routes to choose from, all of which have been ridden by the Café Hero team in the past, cater for differing levels of ability and experience. The feed zones are superb and there’s always a treat or two for finishes at the rugby club. Just remember to save yourself for the punishing Langbar climb at the end if each route… and remember to smile for the photographer!
