While most of you were watching a gripping Criterium du Dauphine the team here at Cafe Hero HQ have been busy preparing 3 more cafe profiles (we were watching the Dauphine too!).
Bank View Cafe
It’s hard to miss (and not like) Bank View Cafe. The owners have gone above and beyond to cater for cyclists. The superb food, rock bottom prices, and stunning local scenery make this cafe a must for any local grimpeurs.
If you feel more at home on the flat, the The Barn has to be top of your to-do list. The roads South West of York are something else… quiet, smooth and winding (and yes sometimes windy).
When we found The Barn we knew we’d hit the jackpot. This is one of the best looking cafes we’ve seen on a bike, and the food was out of this world. It’s probably not a cafe for huge groups, bad weather days, or riders on a tight budget – but if a small group are looking for a classy stop on a sunny day it doesn’t get any better than this.
The Stables Cafe
It makes sense for The Barn and The Stables to not be too far away from each other, but if you’re looking for somewhere a little cheaper with plenty of space and character The Stables will be for you. Lotherton Hall is a sucessful tourist attraction in its own right, but if you’re not looking for culture and instead just want cake, make sure you drop in.
