Situated on the bustling Abbeydale Road close to Sheffield city centre you will find Amici & Bici, a fantastic cycling themed spot with a laid back and welcoming feel. At a first glance it may seem odd to recommend a cycling cafe on a busy main road, however a second look at the map reveals some incredible riding nearby, with the Rivelin Valley as well as Ladybower and Derwent Reservoirs all within 10 miles and some of the greatest climbs in the Peak District not much further afield.
As with most cycling themed cafes there’s an abundance of bike related memorabilia and artwork adorning the walls as well as cycling magazines to peruse while you wait for your food, and the cycle love continues outside, with a rack to safely stand your bike and loads of seating for big groups of hungry riders.
On the food front, A&B has an amazing specials board and a lunch menu that offers great value if you have the time for a longer cafe stop, but if you are just there for a hot drink and cake then you are in for a treat too, with homemade cakes and buns baked daily and some of the best coffee around. If you are feeling particularly flush then you can even try a cup of Kopi Luwak!
To call this place a cafe is almost a disservice, as the quality of the lasagne, pizza and fresh focaccia would rival any Italian restaurant, but whatever the classification, we can certainly agree that the combination of friendly, approachable staff and delicious homemade food makes Amici & Bici a must if you are riding in the area.
