In the grounds of Beningbrough Hall, a large Georgian mansion overlooking the River Ouse in North Yorkshire, you will find a great spot to enjoy some delicious homemade treats. Home Farm Café is split between a farm shop selling a large range of local produce, and a café with ample seating inside and out, catering for visitors to the hall as well as hungry cyclists looking for a cake fix.
In addition to the main building, at weekends during the summer when the café gets really busy, the team at the cafe open up the Shepherd Hut to cater for cyclists, dog walkers and people who generally would like a quick pit stop, which we think is a brilliant idea! The hut has a separate coffee making machine serving take-away espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, as well as homemade cakes, meaning you can grab a brew and a snack and be on your way in no time at all.
In the main café the menu consists of big breakfasts, tasty lunches such as quiches and toasties, as well as a large range of hot and cold drinks and the service always comes with a smile.
One important note when you approach on bike is to make sure you follow the signs for the farm shop and not the actual hall (unless of course you want to grab a quick picture!) and at arrival at the café you should then find ample space to lean your bike while you stop for refreshments.
