We visited The Black Mulberry as part of a small group on a busy Sunday morning and the cafe was full with a great vibrant atmosphere. Despite being busy the staff were more than helpful in sorting us out with an area to sit and throughout the visit the service remained speedy and excellent. The extensive menu is very reasonably priced and they even have great cyclist deals that include all your favourites. Fat rascals, Belgian waffles and Mexican magic pancakes all appear on the menu as well to name a few stand out items, and we also caught a glimpse of a tasty burger passing our table that looked incredible! Maybe next time!
In terms of location, the café is situated by the banks of the River Nidd, with amazing views of the viaduct upstream. There is plenty of space to park your bike outside in view from your table and there is a small terrace at the rear where you can sit overlooking the water in the summer months.
Overall, this place has everything you need for a perfect café stop. A great location, quick service, quality food and affordable prices. Everyone should have on their list of Yorkshire’s top cycling cafes.
