The Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) café is a lovely place for a slice of cake and a cup of tea while looking out over Henry Moore sculptures. There are two cafes, both of which can be used, but the main café has more space and a more upmarket feel with both balcony and outdoor seating. The second café, a little further into the park is smaller but you can still sit inside or outside. YSP can get busy at lunch times so we’d suggest using this as an early stop off.
The food is all freshly made and there’s a wide selection of sandwiches, soup and homemade cake.
In terms of facilities there are a couple of bike stands near the main cafe but there is plenty of space to put your bike and keep an eye on it from the balcony or the outdoor seating area.
YSP is actually only from 16 miles from leeds Leeds, 22 miles from Sheffield and about 10 miles from Huddersfield – so it makes a great mid-ride stop over; especially if you are interested in something a little different.
Slice of cake £3.95
The YSP ginger and mango cake – again something a little different; a moist cake with big fruit flavour
